This route swaps the motorway for two of the finest driving experiences in the West. First, you'll tackle the B4235 'Usk Road', a favorite of driving enthusiasts for its technical turns and forest canopy. Then, after crossing the valleys, you'll ascend the Rhigos and Bwlch mountain passes (A4061), which offer mountain scenery and hairpins that feel more like the Alps than South Wales. The route concludes with a coastal descent into Ogmore-by-Sea. Use caution on the A4061 in poor weather, as clouds can descend quickly.
