Going-to-the-Sun Road

This road is in strong contention for the single most scenic driving road in the nation. Incredibly beautiful, but not for the faint of heart. In the mountains, the road is cut into the mountain sides of Glacier National Park with rock face on one side and a sheer drop on the other only separated from pavement by a shallow rock wall in most high up places. Traffic is heavily dependent on time of day and time of year since the road is only open for 3-4 months out of the year to begin with.
